Magna continues to deliver new affordable homes across Dorset

Magna Housing, a community-based housing association providing homes and services to local people, has recently acquired 56 new homes in Dorset.

Magna plans to deliver 3,000 new homes over the next 10 years as part of its ambitious growth plan to help address the housing crisis in the region.

New homes taking shape across Dorset

The recently acquired developments include a mix of high quality, sustainable homes, some available to rental customers and others to shared owners. They are a mix of styles and sizes, reflecting local planning requirements and the needs of their communities.

They include:

  • 12 shared ownership homes at Oakwood Grove, Alderholt – built by Pennyfarthing Homes. These properties are ready for their new owners and are currently being advertised, with five homes already reserved.
  • Two shared ownership homes at Potters Wood, Verwood – these have also been built by Pennyfarthing Homes and are ready for their new owners. Both homes have been reserved.
  • 16 homes at Warmwell Rise, Crossways – these homes are currently under construction with Cavanna Homes. Once finished, 10 will be available for social rent, and six for shared ownership. Magna also secured 49 homes on this development last year.
  • 26 homes at Poundbury in Dorchester – these properties are being built by Morrish Homes, in line with Poundbury’s design code. There will be 11 homes for social rent, and 15 for shared ownership.

Neo RakodiMagna’s Head of Growth says: “We know how important affordable, secure homes are to people across our region, and we’re proud to be a part of delivering them. Our teams work incredibly hard with our partners to make new homes available, and we’re committed to creating places where people can thrive.

“We hope to deliver around 300 new homes each year in the next decade, maintaining a steady pipeline to support local communities across the region. As demand continues to rise, we’ll keep working hard to create great homes and support the wellbeing of our customers and communities.”

Sheetal Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at Pennyfarthing Homes, adds: “Strong partnerships are fundamental to delivering high-quality affordable homes in the UK, and our ongoing collaboration with Magna is a great example of what can be achieved when organisations work closely together with a shared purpose. By combining our expertise, we’re able to bring forward well-designed, sustainable homes that meet local needs and provide real opportunities for people to access housing in Dorset.”
